Accord Technology Positioned Well for GPS WAAS Market

Accord Technology moved its headquarters to Phoenix, AZ, from Idaho late this summer and will be lead by Hal Adams, Chief Operating Officer.

December 15, 2010 -- Phoenix, AZ – Accord Technology, LLC, leading edge GPS WAAS Class Beta 1, 2, 3 sensor and receiver developers, recently announced they are prepared for future growth with key personnel in place and their new headquarters now based in Phoenix, Arizona.

Accord Technology moved their headquarters to Phoenix, Arizona from Idaho late this summer where their GPS sensor/receiver production, support, administration, and business development activities will take place and will be lead by Hal Adams, Chief Operating Officer. The Accord Technology team based in Phoenix is supported by a core Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) team at Accord Software & Systems Pvt., Ltd. in Bangalore, India. Together with NexGen Avionics, LLC of Phoenix, Arizona, the two entities make up the Accord Technology, LLC joint venture that is poised to take advantage of the future ADS-B market and offer numerous GPS solutions with the NexNav mini and NexNav MAX product lines.

Key leadership roles at Accord Technology have recently been filled, including Rakesh Nayak as the new Director, Engineering & Compliance in Phoenix, AZ. Formerly, the GNSS Technology Manager for Accord Software & Systems in India, Rakish has played pivotal roles during his 16 year career associated with the Accord Software group, including Design Engineer, Technical Project Leader and Technical Manager for the GPS-WAAS TSO-C145c Beta 1 and TSO-C145c Beta 3 certification programs. Rakesh has in-depth knowledge of GPS-WAAS receiver hardware and software design and implementation. He has also performed the safety and reliability analysis, FTA/FMEA, environmental qualification tests of the GPS-WAAS receivers and developed the RAIM algorithms for the certified GPS-WAAS Receiver. He has published more than 10 journal and conference papers related to GPS-WAAS and has a US patent to his credit. Rakesh has a BSc degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Regional Engineering College, Surathkal, India and an MSc degree in Navigation from The University of Calgary, Calgary, Canada.

Another key placement is John Pratt, who also recently joined Accord Technology in their Anchorage, Alaska office to conduct NexNav units final testing and manage the final certification process. John has held an FAA Inspection Authorization for over 25 years and was Director of Quality Control for MarkAir Express where he developed and implemented quality control procedures for the FAR Part 135 and Part 121 airline that operated 75 aircraft. As the President of Pratt Aviation Services, Inc., John worked at the international level with governments of Japan and China to export general aviation aircraft to those countries. John served in the US Air Force from 1964 to 1996 when he retired with the rank of Colonel. He was responsible for Maintenance Management and Quality Control functions in aircraft maintenance. John’s last USAF assignment was as Assistant to the Director of Maintenance for the Strategic Air Command.
