MONTREAL, QUEBEC -- (Marketwire - April 5, 2011) - Bombardier Aerospace today strengthened its aftermarket service network for Challenger business aircraft customers in Latin America by increasing capabilities at its two prominent maintenance service providers in the region. Aerovitro S.A. of Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, has now been named an Authorized Service Facility (ASF) for Challenger 300 and Challenger 604/605 aircraft, and Aviacion Atlantico Sur S.A. (AASSA) of Buenos Aires, Argentina, is now appointed an Aircraft-On-Ground (AOG) Line Maintenance Facility (LMF) for Challenger 604/605 aircraft.

Currently, 52 ASFs and AOG LMFs cater to Bombardier's business and commercial aircraft customers in 26 countries, with four serving Latin America. These are supported by nine Bombardier-owned service centres in North America and Europe.

"These recent appointments reflect our confidence in the professionalism and know-how of these two leading maintenance service providers," said James Hoblyn, President, Customer Services & Specialized and Amphibious Aircraft, Bombardier Aerospace. "Bombardier currently has a significant presence in the business aircraft market in Latin America, and we will continue to fortify our aftermarket network to deliver world-class service to our steadily growing customer base in the region."

Aerovitro has over 40 years of experience in business jet maintenance and has served as an AOG LMF for Challenger 604/605 and Global Express aircraft since August 2010. The facility, located at Del Norte International Airport, offers 18,100 sq. ft. (1,681 sq. m.) of hangar space and employs 16 full-time aircraft maintenance personnel. Aerovitro is one of two Bombardier-approved business jet maintenance facilities in Mexico. More appointments are expected in the near future, as the company moves swiftly to expand its presence in the country.

Aviacion Atlantico Sur S.A. has been a provider of business aircraft maintenance services for the past 12 years and has served as an ASF for Bombardier Learjet aircraft since 2008. Situated at Buenos Aires' San Fernando International Airport, AASSA employs a full-time staff of 22 airframe, avionics and engine technicians, and offers 12,000 sq. ft. (1,115 sq. m.) of hangar space. It is the only Bombardier-appointed maintenance facility in Argentina.

More than 475 Bombardier Learjet, Challenger and Global business jets are based in the region.
