Ron Utecht Receives Lifetime Achievement Award from ATA and Aviation Week

This prestigious award was presented at the 44th annual “Nuts and Bolts Awards” ceremony during Aviation Week's MRO Americas Conference & Exhibition.

MIAMI BEACH, FL, APRIL 13, 2011 – Ron Utecht, outgoing Co-Chief Executive Officer and President of TIMCO Aviation Services, has received the first ever Lifetime Achievement Award from Aviation Week and the Air Transport Association (ATA). This prestigious award was presented at the 44th annual “Nuts and Bolts Awards” ceremony during Aviation Week's MRO Americas Conference & Exhibition at the Miami Beach Convention Center. Aviation Week and ATA have partnered since 2001 to bring the awards ceremony to the MRO Americas conference.

The special award was presented to Mr. Utecht for his invaluable contributions to the airline industry during his fifty-year career. In 2002, Mr. Utecht ended more than forty years at United Airlines in his most recent role as its Senior Vice President of Maintenance. In 2003, he began his tenure with TIMCO, where for the past several years, Mr. Utecht, along with his Co-CEO Kevin Carter, played an important part in making TIMCO one of the most prominent MRO and aircraft interiors providers in the world. Mr. Utecht is also a recent recipient of the Federal Aviation Administration’s prestigious Charles Taylor “Master Mechanic” award.

As reported on March 25th of this year, Mr. Carter assumed the role of CEO for TIMCO as of April 1, 2011. Mr. Utecht has transitioned from his formal leadership role into a senior advisory role with the company.

TIMCO Aviation Services provides fully integrated aviation maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO), and line maintenance services for major commercial and government aircraft operators. The company currently operates three active maintenance locations at its corporate headquarters in Greensboro NC, as well as facilities in Macon GA and Lake City FL. Through its TIMCO Aerosystems division, the company also provides fully integrated aircraft interiors design, manufacturing, integration and certification services. Maintenance operations are also supported by an advanced Engine Center in Oscoda, MI, and fully integrated aircraft seat design, manufacturing, integration and certification facilities in California.
