Rio de Janeiro, May 5, 2011 - With the mark of 26 Embraer’s Jets with heavy maintenance services accomplished in the last year, TAP Maintenance and Engineering Brazil celebrated on Tuesday, May 3, the first anniversary of its certification as an Embraer Authorized Service Center (EASC).
It was a year of hard work and many achievements. Embraer kept its team fully supporting Technicians and Engineers of TAP M&E Brazil and the Company was able to meet all customer needs, fulfilling the delivery date of the aircraft, which generated a high level of satisfaction by such customers. There were 6 planes from the Brazilian Air Force (FAB), 16 from AZUL Airlines and 4 from TRIP, which have undergone major Checks in the Porto Alegre Maintenance Center, where TAP M&E Brazil has devoted a hangar exclusively for the services which belong from the partnership with Embraer.
TAP M&E Brazil is now the first and only Authorized Service Center for Embraer in Latin America, for the EJets aircraft families (models E170/E190). This market, including Brazilian companies in a strong way, has been showing a growing interest for this type of aircraft and, if this trend goes ahead, it is likely that TAP M&E Brazil dedicates another hangar for the Embraer jets maintenance.
The contract was signed on May 3, 2010, in a ceremony held at TAP M&E Brazil, Porto Alegre’s Base, with the presence of Nestor Koch, President of TAP M&E Brazil, and Fernando Pinto, Chairman of the Board of Directors of TAP; Rinaldo Araujo, Embraer Customer Support Manager, Latin America – Airline Market and Luiz Hamilton Lima, Embraer Vice President, Latin America – Airline Market, among other officials, journalists, company employees and guests.
TAP M&E Brazil is the only Latin America MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul) company certified to provide services for the Airbus, Boeing and Embraer fleets. Some ERJ145 aircraft of FAB also undergo maintenance at TAP M&E Brazil. In Brazil, all operators of Embraer jets with capacity between 37 and 122, held services in the TAP M&E BRAZIL, in airframe, components, or both.
The success of this partnership is related to the great work that the group of employees from both companies has been performing and TAP M&E Brazil will continue to invest in training their staff to maintain excellence in service, internationally recognized for major aeronautical authorities of the world, such as ANAC in Brazil and the U.S. FAA.
