Eaton’s Customer Service, Innovation on High-Pressure Duct Repair and Overhaul Are Major Advantages for European B757 Fleets
IRVINE, Calif. …Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation announced that it has secured contracts with a number of European airlines and aviation-related companies for repair and overhaul services on high-pressure ducts for Boeing 757 jets. Contracts apply specifically to jets with Rolls-Royce RB211 engines, for which Eaton is the original equipment manufacturer for high-pressure 2 (HP2) and high-pressure 6 (HP6) ducts.
Moreover, in collaboration with Boeing, Eaton developed a split modification to the HP2 duct that significantly reduces work hours required to remove the duct for subsequent repair or overhaul. Ducts undergo routine repair or overhaul approximately every 10,000 flying hours. Customers invariably elect to have the modification done to HP2 ducts to benefit from time and cost savings for maintenance over the life of the aircraft.
“An increasing number of customers are selecting Eaton to provide critical, specialized repair and overhaul services for their B757 fleets,” said Eric Alden, vice president of customer support for Eaton’s Aerospace Group. “These companies join a growing number of customers worldwide who are benefitting from Eaton’s outstanding service and support, as well as innovative maintenance services that optimize lifecycle costs and improve aircraft availability.”
Eaton now provides duct repair and overhaul for 74 B757 aircraft with Rolls-Royce RB211 engines throughout Europe that are owned or serviced by at least a dozen airlines, maintenance and technical-support providers, and other aviation-related companies. Most of the contract agreements were secured between 2006 and 2010. Eaton’s service record for B757 duct-related work is a reflection of the company’s commitment to delivering the highest levels of customer service and support. Turnaround time for duct modification and repair and overhaul services is invariably below 21 days and usually averages less than 14 days.
