Nine years after the first C-check MNG Technic undertakes another major task to improve its capability and be a leader in the Turkish civil aviation sector.
MNG Technic will convert three Airbus A300-600 passenger aircraft into freighter configuration belonging to MNG Airlines. The conversion of the first aircraft has began on 19 September.
MNG Technic will become the first and only MRO in Turkey which is capable of passenger-to-freighter conversion.
The passenger to freighter conversion will be performed by MNG Technic at the MNG Technic’s Istanbul MRO facility using a purchased STC (Supplemental Type Certificate) and conversion kit.
Conversion will require the removal of all passenger equipment, major structural reinforcements to the aircraft floor and fuselage and the installation of an electrically powered main deck large freighter door. The converted freighter aircraft will be capable of transporting a payload of up to 52 tons.
Passenger to freighter conversion is a significant step forward in transforming MNG Technic, already a leading provider of A300 heavy maintenance, into one of only a few MROs in the world capable of offering freighter conversion installation and the first and only MRO in the world outside of the OEM to convert A300-600 aircraft with EASA certification.
