Dynetics and WestWind Technologies Form Aviation Support Alliance
Huntsville, Ala. -- Officials with Dynetics and WestWind Technologies announced today the two companies have formed Aviation Support Alliance (ASA), a joint venture that brings together engineering, manufacturing and logistics expertise for aviation customers. The first pursuit for ASA will be the contract for the Logistics Support Facility Management Activity (LSFMA).
The LSFMA program is designed to provide the Army with low-cost, rapid responses to meet the changing requirements for improvements and mission support of the Army Aviation fleet. ASA will compete for the contract award by combining the applicable assets of the joint venture partners to best meet the program requirements for Army Aviation support.
WestWind Chief Operating Officer Roger Messick said, “By bringing together the strengths and capabilities of Dynetics and WestWind, we are confident we can provide the customer with the best engineering, integration and maintenance personnel available – combined with unmatched aviation support facilities.”
Dynetics CEO Dr. Marc Bendickson explained, “Our two companies combine more than 48 years of experience and proven efficiency in many critical areas, and we both have a history of supporting our customers with what they need when they need it.”
According to Messick and Bendickson, the unique compatibility of the corporate cultures is one of the reasons WestWind and Dynetics joined forces.
“Both businesses were founded on a philosophy of solid ethics,” said Messick. “We each have a corporate commitment to conduct business ethically and responsibly.”
Bendickson added, "WestWind and Dynetics have demonstrated backgrounds and proven success in providing aviation products and services to government customers."
WestWind supplies ASA with aviation modification, integration, manufacturing and kitting capabilities along with modern hangar facilities. Dynetics provides a long history of engineering expertise with Army rotary wing platforms and unmanned aerial systems (UAS) experience and capabilities, as well as extensive experience in managing joint ventures and large task order contracts.
The joint venture also allows ASA to provide customers with superior support facilities. WestWind's Huntsville Aviation Modification and Integration Center combines comprehensive aviation services capabilities with full runway access to the Huntsville International Airport where the facility is located. Similarly, Dynetics has a new 227,000-square-foot prototyping facility under construction which will facilitate state-of-the-art manufacture of products related to aviation, intelligence, missiles, cyber and space.
