Ryanair carries a record 8.9m passengers in August

Ryanair carried a record 8.9 million passengers in the month of August. The airline said that this figure was an increase of 760,000 or 9% on the previous month and is the second highest monthly figure ever. August was the second month this year that the airline carried more than 8 million passengers and the company says that it is the only airline in Europe to carry over 7 million passengers in one month. Ryanair says that the load factor, or the number of seats occupied in the year to August stands at 82%.

The airline said that this figure was an increase of 760,000 or 9% on the previous month and is the second highest monthly figure ever.
