Pinnacle Airlines appoints new CEO

Pinnacle Airlines Corp on Thursday announced that it has appointed John Spanjers as chief executive officer, effective from 1 June 2012.

Currently chief operating officer of Pinnacle Airlines Corp, Spanjers will succeed Sean Menke as chief executive officer from 1 June this year. Spanjers has been chief operating officer at Pinnacle Airlines Corp since September last year, and before joining the company he was president of Mesaba Aviation. Menke, who has chosen to resign from the company on 1 June 2012, is expected to work closely with Spanjers and the other members of the carrier's leadership team in an effort to support a seamless transistion over the next five weeks. The carrier said it does not expect this transition to impact on the timeline of it's Chapter 11 proceedings or Pinnacle's ability to successfully restructure and emerge from Chapter 11.
