ISLAMABAD, Jan. 2 -- The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has

levied new taxes and enhanced the existing airport charges and

passengers service charges effective from January 16, a

Spokesman of the Authority said on Monday.

These new charges levied by CAA included Embarkation Fee,

Government Airport tax, Infrastructure Development and Security

charges etc.

According to the Spokesman, the passengers taking

international flights travelling First or Business class will have

to pay an additional amount of Rs 1,720, while the economy class

passengers travelling abroad will be charged Rs 1,220.

Similarly domestic travellers of all classes will pay an

additional sum of Rs 200 for travelling within Pakistan.

The airport tax will remain the same (Rs.20 per person) while

the security charges of Rs.180 will be charged on every departing

international passenger.

He said the security charges will be applicable until June 30,

this year and thereafter, it will be recalculated and implemented

considering prevailing currency conversion rate of US Dollar.

Enhancement in the passenger service charges will also be
