FAA approves single operating certificate for ASA and ExpressJet

Atlantic Southeast Airlines, completely owned subsidiary of SkyWest, and ExpressJet Airlines, a completely owned subsidiary of Atlantic Southeast, obtained approval from Federal Aviation Administration, for a single operating certificate. With this approval, Atlantic Southeast Airlines and ExpressJet Airlines will merge and operate as one carrier. SkyWest stated that, the airlines accomplished single operating certificate in record time even as safely maintaining daily operations. After purchasing ExpressJet Holdings, SkyWest has been planning to combine ExpressJet Airlines into Atlantic Southeast Airlines, legally as well as operationally. From 31 December, the joint airline will function completely as ExpressJet Airlines and will be world s major regional airline, with 2,350 daily services.
