On 2 November, Singapore Airlines Cargo will start weekly freight service from Changi Airport to Frankfurt Airport. Boeing 747 freighters will be put on this new route. This will upgrade cargo capacity of Singapore Airlines.

Singapore Airlines officials hopes these flights to mainly transport machinery and automotive products as Frankfurt is considered as a prime center for the manufacturing and air transportation sectors. Singapore Airlines senior vice president of sales and marketing, Tan Tiow Kor, said this move was initiated in order to meet the demand. He said, The freighter services to Frankfurt will give our customers more choice of flights to choose from and will play an important role in expanding two-way trade links with key markets in Asia and Europe.
