Abu Dhabi International Airport will experience an 8% rise in the net weekly aircraft traffic in 2011 s winter schedule from November 2011 to March 2012 as compared to the same period last year.

Commuters will be provided some 900 flights weekly from Abu Dhabi to five continents internationally, with extra services, newly introduced airlines and locations. The new diversified agenda follows the airport's readying for the height of the travel season in the period from October to January, as Abu Dhabi organizes important global and regional occasions, such as the 2011 Formula One Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in November, together with the season s holidays of Eid Al Adha and Hajj. The 2011-2012 winter schedule involves Etihad Airways' new services to Chengdu, Dusseldorf, Male and the Seychelles along with extra services. Air India Express, Yemenia Airways and Saudi Arabian also raised services within their network, while Singapore Airways and Lufthansa have increased their frequencies. Also important for the increase in services were VAustralia, Cathay Pacific and Czech Airlines, who started Abu Dhabi operations in 2011. Eng.
