Young Eagles flights set at Dubuque Airport
The Dubuque Regional Airport, Dubuque Jet Center and the Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 327 invite area youth to reserve a free flight over Dubuque on Saturday, Oct, 8. The Young Eagles flights will be departing from the Dubuque Jet Center, 11000 Airport Road, from 10 a.m. to noon. The EAA Young Eagles program is a free local area flight for children ages 8 to 17 in a general aviation aircraft. People interested in reserving a seat for their child's flight need to contact Young Eagles Coordinator Dawn Grierson at 563-690-6146, ext. 4551. An EAA registration form is required and must be signed by the parent or guardian of the young person wishing to participate. Space is limited and will be on a first registration basis. Preregistration is encouraged. Following the flight, each young person will receive a certificate making them an official Young Eagle. Their name will then be entered into the "World's Largest Logbook," which is on permanent display at the EAA Air Adventure Museum in Oshkosh, Wis. The logbook also is accessible at www.youngeagles.org.
