Frontier Airlines announces new services
Frontier Airlines will provide direct flights from Kansas City to Orlando, Fla., beginning in January. The airline, which has a terminal at Kansas City International Airport, stated that the seasonal flight would carry on from Jan. 5 till April 15, beginning four days a week and growing to six days a week on Feb. 23.
The 99-seat aircraft utilized on the route will not have middle seats and will have additional legroom. Initial costs will begin at $79 each way. The Orlando route will extend Frontier to 19 direct locations from KCI. Frontier is enhancing its direct service to Las Vegas, which start ons Nov. 1, from a 99-seat aircraft to one with 138 seats due to the high demand, Daniel Shurz, vice president of strategy and planning for Frontier, explained in a statement. KCI has had many flight services recently. Frontier revealed proposals to provide direct service from KCI to Houston s Hobby Airport and to Las Vegas but also halted twice-daily services to Minneapolis. Alaska Airlines will start services to KCI in March, when it will start daily direct service between KCI and Seattle. American Airlines Inc. aims to reduce seats from Kansas City to Chicago by almost a third under a wider fall and winter cutbacks. Frontier is a fully held ancillary of Indianapolis-headquartered Republic Airways Holdings Inc.
