Hangar, pavement projects to start at Milwaukee County's Timmerman airport

Oct. 24, 2011

A $320,000 pavement project at Milwaukee County’s Lawrence J. Timmerman Airport should start this fall.

Gov. Scott Walker has released $8,000 in state money to rebuild part of the north hangar area taxi lane. Milwaukee County is contributing another $8,000, and the Federal Aviation Administration is providing $304,000.

The project will also repair deteriorated pavement sections at the airport, according to a news release from WisDOT.

Construction should be completed by spring 2012.

The airport handles about 45,000 takeoffs and landings each year.
