New domestic, international routes open at south Russia airports
New international and domestic destinations will be opened at airports of southern Russian cities of Krasnodar, Anapa and Sochi in winter.
Carriers also plan to intensify fights on the existing domestic routes, sources from Basel Aero told Itar-Tass on Wednesday. Basel Aero is the operating company for the Sochi, Krasnodar, Gelendzhik, Yeysk and Anapa airports.
The winter schedule of the international airport of Krasnodar will include six more routes. Polish Lot carrier launches in November flights between Krasnodar and Warsaw, RusLine carrier will launch regular flights to Munich, while UTair - to Bangkok. Uzbekistan Airways will make fights to Bukhara, and UTair will connect Krasnodar with Yerevan. Urals Airlines will begin flights to Dubai.
New carriers have appeared on domestic destinations. VIM-Avia carrier has opened regular flights between Krasnodar and St. Petersburg, while Taimyr airlines operates flights to Samara and Krasnoyarsk. In winter, UTair plans to begin flights to Surgut, while NordAvia - to Novosibirsk and Norilsk.
The Black Sea resort city of Sochi will be connected in winter with Belgrade, Frankfurt and Trabzon. Georgian Airways will make regular flights to Tbilisi, and Kuban carrier will make charter flights to Dubai.
The airport of Anapa will add new routes - to Kazan, Voronezh and Lipetsk. Morning flights to Moscow will be launched at the airport of Gelendzhik in addition to two daily flights operated by Aeroflot and UTair.
Although Avianova and Kontinent airlines have stopped their activity, there have been no major changes in the routes, the director general of Basel Aero, Sergei Likharyov, said. "Moreover, new regular and charter flights and more frequent flights on existing destinations testify to a growing passenger flow at the airports of the group," he stressed.
