Airline Stocks Held Back By AMR, US Air
WASHINTON (MarketWatch) -- Airline stocks rose modestly on Monday, held back by slumping share prices among the legacy carriers. The NYSE Arca Airline Index (xal) edged up 0.38% to 33.64 points with all but five of its 15 components trading up. But shares of American Airlines parent AMR Corp. (amr) declined 2.6%, while shares of Southwest Airlines (luv) , Delta Air Lines (dal) and US Airways (lcc) declined by a fraction each. United Continental (ual) was trading sideways.
