Airport Probe
TWO workers at Shannon Airport have been suspended after a transatlantic cargo jet was grounded.
The Kalitta Air Boeing 747 freighter - heading from the US to Belgium - had only landed at Shannon because a warning light forced it to divert there.
It appears the push back procedure was initiated without the aircraft crew, ground personnel or control tower realizing the air-bridge was still in place. Both workers involved in the November 18 incident are employed by ground handling agent Servisair.
A company spokesman said last night: "The staff will be dealt with according to company policy after our investigation has been concluded."
