Pacific Oriental Wins Northwest Contract

POI will provide ramp and cargo operations at Saipan Airport.

Pacific Oriental was awards a two-year contract for ramp and cargo operations for Northwest Airlines at Saipan International Airport, reports The Saipan Tribune.

POI general manager, Frank Camacho, confirmed the contract and says Pacific Airport Service will provide cleaning services and airport counter operations.

Continental Micronesia lost the airport counter operations contract, affecting several employees furloughed when Japan Airlines stopped regular flights to Saipan. Aircraft maintenance for Northwest will continue to be done by Continental, however.
