Santa Guides Airplane to Gate at D/FW
D/FW AIRPORT -- Pilots for American Airlines Flight 1122 from Tucson, Ariz., might have been a little surprised to find Santa guiding their sleigh into the gate Thursday.
Jolly Ol' Saint Nick stood on the ramp at Gate D27, holding a pair of orange lighted wands over his head.
It's become a common sight. For the past five years, Dallas/Fort Worth Airport has called on Santa for help on the busiest day of the year.
Of course, he wasn't alone: He had help from two ramp agents.
Santa, being as busy as he is, missed his initial assignment, a Tokyo flight.
So his handlers made him wait for about five minutes until they got clearance for him to direct the Tucson arrival.
