Aircraft from Offutt Air Force Base's 55th Wing are scheduled to start relocating Wednesday to Lincoln Airport, clearing the way for a runway repair project at the base.

About 20 Offutt aircraft will operate from Lincoln during the $19 million project, which is scheduled to last through October, said 2nd Lt. Matt Miller, a 55th Wing spokesman.

Most of the aircraft should be moved to Lincoln by Friday, Miller said.

The Air Force is leasing a hangar at the airport for $195,000 and plans to bus personnel from Offutt to Lincoln while runway repairs are under way.
