American Airlines parent AMR Corp. on Monday said it plans to start direct flights between Austin, Texas, and Seattle in April.
American currently flies nonstop from Austin to Los Angeles and San Jose, Calif. The company called those two flights a success that it expects to replicate on the Austin-Seattle route.
The airline will operate one round trip a day on between the cities, flying an MD80 plane with 120 coach seats and 16 first class seats, AMR said.
AMR shares fell 13 cents to close at $31.58 on the New York Stock Exchange.
