Cavotec MSL is to supply a range of in-ground electrical systems to power F-22 fighter aircraft during maintenance operations at the United States Air Force (USAF) base at Elmendorf, Alaska.
“The US Corps of Engineers designed these systems with Cavotec — a close and productive partnership we are proud to be part of,” says Christian Bernadotte, president Cavotec Dabico US Inc.
Cavotec is to supply several 480V, 120V, and 270Vdc pop-up pedestal units that will be embedded into the floor of a new hangar at Elmendorf. Deliveries are due to start late summer this year, and continue into early 2010.
Featuring a host of advanced technologies, the F-22 Raptor is a fifth generation multi-role fighter aircraft.
“Servicing this aircraft demands the highest standards of precision engineering and quality service — resources we strive to deliver to all our customers,” says Bernadotte.
Cavotec equipment is already in use at Elmendorf, providing electrical services during maintenance of C-17 Galaxy transport aircraft in a hangar next to the planned F-22 facility.
