Fraport Reaches Agreement with Ground Services Unions
German airport operator Fraport AG announced that it has reached an agreement with the ver.di and komba unions on the main points of a new collective agreement covering Fraport's ground services employees at Frankfurt Airport.
The agreement, which run until the end of 2018, has reportedly prevented a ground services strike at Frankfurt Airport.
Key points of the new collective agreement include: lower pay rates for newly hired employees; no spin off of any business areas from the company; guarantees of the current rights for existing employees; more efficient regulations for alternating shifts; the promise to continue the partial retirement scheme for operational ground services staff; and arrangements for taking over apprentices upon completion of their training.
