Continental Airlines (NYSE:CAL) announced that it carried a total of 5,292,985 passengers in December 2009, up 1.8 percent compared to the same period of last year.
Revenue passenger miles for the month rose by 6.0 percent compared to December 2008, while available seat miles increased by 2.1 percent, resulting in a consolidated load factor of 83.0 percent, an improvement of 3.1 percentage points.
For the full year 2009 Continental Airlines reported a decrease in revenue passenger miles of 3.8 percent compared to 2008, while available seat miles dropped by 5.2 percent, resulting in a load factor of 81.4 percent, an increase of 1.2 percentage points.
