Children in need will be treated to holiday festivities.

COLORADO SPRINGS -- On Saturday, December 15, SkyWest Airlines, a wholly-owned subsidiary of SkyWest, Inc. (SKYW), in conjunction with the Junior League of Colorado Springs and Community Partnership for Child Development (CPCD), will bring holiday fantasies to life for 50 local children.

The children will travel aboard a Bombardier-manufactured Canadair Regional Jet (CRJ700) for a 30-minute Fantasy Flight from the Colorado Springs Airport (COS) Gate 11 to the "North Pole" (COS gate 15). Upon arrival, they will be greeted by Santa and Mrs. Claus and their elves. Santa will be flown in on helicopter by Premier Helicopter.

Check-in begins at 5:00 p.m. at the United Airlines ticket counter. The flight will depart at 7:30 p.m. from Gate 11 and will arrive at the "North Pole" (Gate 15) at approximately 8:00 p.m. Festivities such as music, dancing, dinner, face painting, clowns, balloon artistry and gifts will last until 9:30 p.m. Prior to departure, a drawing will be held for one media outlet in attendance to take the flight with the kids.

"The magic of the season comes alive when you're a child, and we are excited to share Christmas joys with local children in need," says Lori Hunt, SkyWest Airlines vice president -- people. "We are pleased to partner with the community to offer this experience for the children of Colorado Springs."

Most of the Fantasy Flight children are enrolled in CPCD early childhood education programs. For these children, this will truly be a holiday to remember.
