CAIRO, Egypt (AP) -- Egyptian security officers detained for an hour more than 300 passengers after their Saudi plane arrived at Cairo airport with the name of a Saudi dissident scrawled on the window of the toilet cubicle, according to airport officials.

The officials said the captain of the Saudi plane informed Egyptian airport security that during the flight from Riyadh someone had written ''Islah ... Saad al-Fagih'' on the toilet's window.

Saad al-Fagih is a Saudi exile in London who heads the Movement of Islamic Reform (Islah) in Saudi Arabia. He is under U.N. restrictions for allegedly having ties to the al-Qaida terrorist group, which he denies.

Security officers escorted the 310 passengers to a secluded area where their identities were checked in cooperation with Saudi authorities, airport officials said, speaking on customary condition of anonymity. No arrests were made and the passengers were allowed to enter Egypt after an hour.

In January, a Saudi religious court sentenced 15 Saudis, including a woman, to as many as 250 lashes each and up to six months' imprisonment for participating in a protest called by al-Fagih through his satellite television, radio and Web site.
