Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Airport Passenger Traffic Increased 7 Percent in June

The number of passengers flying out the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport in June increased by nearly 7 percent compared to a year ago, according to figures released Thursday by the airport.

Year-to-date figures showed a 10 percent increase in enplanements from the first half of 2004.

For the month 20,957 passengers boarded flights at the airport compared to 19,616 in June 2004.

The half-year enplanement total was 111,234 compared to 101,166 for the first six months of 2004.
