WASHINGTON, Aug. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) today named Pete Garcia as the Federal Security Director (FSD) for Palm Beach (Fla.) International Airport. Garcia has served as Deputy FSD at St. Petersburg-Clearwater and more recently as Acting FSD for Sarasota-Bradenton and St. Petersburg-Clearwater International airports in Florida.
"We have a strong leadership team at TSA and Pete will be a great addition as we continue to evolve into the next generation of aviation security," said Dario Compain, South East Area Director for TSA. "In Sarasota, Pete has done a tremendous job guiding his staff and working with stakeholders. His experience in aviation security will be a great asset to the Palm Beach community."
Prior to joining TSA, Garcia served four years in the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), where he was a Civil Aviation Security Field Unit Manager for Miami International, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood, West Palm Beach and Key West International airports, and was a Special Agent at the FAA Field Office in Miami. He also served four years active duty in the United States Marine Corps as a member of the Presidential Honor Guard.
Garcia graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with honors and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice.
He replaces Acting Federal Security Director David Beecroft, who will resume his position as TSA's FSD at Nashville (Tenn.) International Airport.
