Cargo Company Plans 250 Jobs at Indianapolis Airport
INDIANAPOLIS -- A logistics and inventory company plans to hire at least 250 people and lease a cargo facility at the Indianapolis International Airport.
The Indianapolis-based Transpoint LLC said Tuesday it would invest $3.1 million to set up its new operations, officials said. The new employees will be hired by 2009.
Transpoint received eight years of property tax abatements from the city Indianapolis, in addition to $172,000 in training grants as well as other tax credits.
"I'm excited by this strengthening of Indiana's transportation and logistics sector," Gov. Mitch Daniels said in a statement.
Transpoint is also working with Purdue University to create software that will help track air and sea container shipments from Asia.
