TORONTO, Oct. 20 /CNW/ - The Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA) announced today the start of a new valet parking service at Toronto Pearson International Airport's Terminal 1.

Beginning October 20th, passengers are encouraged to drive directly to the Terminal 1 departures curb, where they will be met by a valet attendant. Vehicles will be tagged and parked inside the GTAA's Terminal 1 garage, a secure indoor facility that protects cars from snow, ice and rain. Drivers will then register with the Valet check-in counter just inside the departure area before proceeding to their flight.

"For the business person travelling on a tight schedule, or the family flying with small children, getting to their plane on time can be challenging," says Steve Shaw, Vice-President of Corporate Affairs. "The introduction of curbside valet service eliminates one step for our passengers, and helps ensure a speedy and convenient beginning to their airport experience."

Upon return to Toronto Pearson, passengers will be directed to the Customer Service Desk in the Terminal 1 Parking Garage to complete their valet transaction. Vehicles will be parked just outside the lobby doorway on Level 5 of the garage for pick-up.

The service costs an additional $20 above the normal Terminal 1 parking garage long-term rate.
