A fire caused several thousand dollars damage to a storage facility at a local airport Saturday afternoon.

Riverside County Firefighters responded to a commercial fire call at 2:31 p.m. at Flabob Airport at 4130 Mennes Ave., according to a fire department statement.

When they arrived, they found a 1,500-square-foot storage facility well engulfed in flames, the statement said. Airport employees reported the fire.

Fire officials called Southern California Edison because of some downed power lines in the area, the statement said.

There were no injuries and no evacuations reported, said Riverside County Fire Capt. Jackie Williams.

The fire caused an estimated $150,000 damage, Williams said. The cause is still under investigation, according to the statement.

It took 30 firefighters to get the blaze under control, the statement said.
