ARMED police swooped on a plane after a passenger claimed he had a bomb - but it was only a bag of Loch Ness Monster toys.

Sales and marketing manager Peter Aldred, 41, cost easyJet GBP 25,000 in delays after the incident at Inverness Airport.

Aldred, from Hitchin in Hertfordshire, was one of 124 passengers on flight 192 to Luton on Monday. Refusing to put a package in an overhead locker, Aldred told cabin crew it was a bomb, but police found two soft Nessie toy and sweets. At Inverness Sheriff Court yesterday, he was ordered not to board any aircraft before sentencing next month.
