Heavy snow forced more than 100 flight cancellations Friday at Frankfurt's international airport, the busiest in continental Europe.

Airport spokesman Klaus Busch said 120 flights had been canceled after the airport got more than 20 centimeters (8 inches) of snow during the morning. Dozens more flights were delayed by as long as an hour.

"Most of the flights are coming into Frankfurt as planned, but there are delays because of the weather," he said.

Busch said he did not know how many passengers were affected. Last month, more than 3.7 million passengers flew in and out of the airport.

In Munich, in southern Germany, airport spokesman Ingo Anspach said two flights had been canceled and 30 flights delayed by as long as an hour because of the weather.
