A federal air marshal and a US Airways passenger were injured yesterday when a jet bridge partially collapsed at Logan International Airport, creating hours of commotion on the airfield as authorities worked to clear the damage, officials said.

``I got off just before it collapsed,'' said passenger Linda Herron of New Jersey. ``I'm lucky my guardian angel was watching over me.''

The jet bridge, which connects the airplane to the terminal, became unhinged from US Airways flight 944 as passengers were deplaning after arriving from Philadelphia at 10:05 a.m., Massport officials said.

One passenger was taken to Boston Medical Center with a shoulder injury and a federal air marshal was taken to the hospital with a neck injury. Authorities said the injuries did not appear serious.

The incident left a corner of the airfield crowded with emergency vehicles for hours yesterday as police and Massport officials worked to assess the damage.

Massport spokesman Phil Orlandella said it was unclear why the jet bridge gave way. ``It's still under investigation, but we don't think this was malicious,'' he said.
