Alitalia to Continue Glights to Sardinia Despite Regulator Ruling

Last week, Italy's civil aviation regulator ENAC said that Alitalia could no longer run those routes because its application for a renewal was presented late.

MILAN (AFX) - Alitalia SpA said it will continue to operate its routes to Sardinia's main city, Cagliari, from Rome and Milan, despite having losing the concession to two other airlines.

Last week, Italy's civil aviation regulator ENAC said that Alitalia could no longer run those routes because its application for a renewal was presented late.

ENAC authorised the airlines Air One and Meridiana to operate routes to the Sardinian airports of Cagliari, Olbia and Alghero for the new three years, starting today.
