Borders has added three new stores to its US airport retail network.

Last month the retailer opened a 1,305sq ft (120sq m) store in the central terminal at Miami International airport. The shop stocks more than 5,000 book tides, audio books, magazines, newspapers, DVDs and CDs as well as a range of Spanish literature.

Earlier in the year the bookseller opened a 1,429sq ft (133sq m) store in terminal four at Phoenix Sky Harbor International airport and a 1,137 sq ft (105sq m) outlet on concourse C at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International airport, the retailer's second outlet at thelocation. The Phoenix store offers a selection of DVDs in addition to its usual offering and provides seating for customers.

Borders Group airport programme senior manager Anthony Grant told DFNI that the roll-out marked "the continuation of an intensive focus" on airport retail. He said that more outlets would be announced in the coming months.

In the past two years Borders has opened airport stores at Orlando International, Seattle, Newark, Boston Logan, Houston, Las Vegas, Baltimore and Washington.
