The United States District Court of Appeals has rejected an appeal to Chicago's plans to expand and modernize the O'Hare Int'l Airport.

The United States District Court of Appeals in Washington has rejected an appeal to Chicago's plans to expand and modernise the O'Hare International Airport.

The $7.5 billion project has been facing several challenges, but in a 2-1 ruling the court rejected the arguments of two Chicago suburbs and a church that the approval granted by the Federal Aviation Administration violated the Religious Freedom Restoration Act.

According to Reuters, the judges found that the decision by the FAA that the project is eligible for federal funding did not amount to federal action that would burden the free exercise of religion.
