A judge has prohibited a man from Nevada, who allegedly assaulted an off-duty crew member on board a commuter flight, from flying for six months.
US District Judge Gregory Frost reportedly also ruled that Joseph Pervis Hebert must notify Continental Airlines and his probation officer before flying for the rest of his five-year probation and must pay fines of $5,000 and approximately $2,700 in restitution, The Associated Press reported.
Hebert pleaded guilty to charges that he hit the off-duty crew member on board Continental Flight 8820 from Cleveland on 10 March.
Hebert was reportedly restrained by passengers and off-duty crew members and the aircraft was diverted to Port Columbus International Airport.
