A roof partially collapsed at an airport building under construction on Spain's Mediterranean island of Menorca Thursday, slightly injuring three workers, the regional Interior Ministry said.
The collapse was believed to be an accident and foul play was ruled out, ministry spokesman Jose Manuel Mateos said.
He said 30 to 40 construction workers were in the building at the time of the collapse, but no one was trapped in it afterward.
The cause of the collapse was not known but torrential rains over the past 24 hours may be a factor, the ministry said.
The building is an extension of the main terminal at the airport, said Sacyr, the company doing the work.
The airport is in Mahon, the capital of Menorca, which is part of the Balearic islands chain, one of Spain's top resort destinations.
