Brazil's Embraer will sell six regional jets to EgyptAir for about US$165 million (euro130 million), and the carrier took out an option to buy six more, the world's fourth largest aircraft maker said Monday.
Empresa Brasileira de Aeronautica SA said it will start delivering the E170 models in April 2007. EgyptAir Holding Co. will use the 76-passenger jets for domestic and regional flights for its newly created EgyptAir Express division, the airline said.
The companies did not disclose the value of the deal, but the E170s have a list price of about US$27.5 million (euro22 million) each. Airlines usually get discounts.
