Smoke filled the cabin of a commuter jet carrying passengers from Cincinnati to Little Rock, but the aircraft landed safely and no one was injured.
A flight attendant on Delta Flight 6241, which was carrying 35 passengers and three crew members, reported smelling smoke in the plane's bathroom Sunday when the plane was about 20 minutes from Little Rock. Smoke then filled the cabin, airport spokesman T.J. Williams said.
The pilot said an oil temperature reading was higher than usual and he believed there might have been a fire in the plane's No. 1 engine, which he shut down.
Williams said the Embraer jet, owned by Chautauqua Airlines, was having a new engine put in Sunday night as a precaution. Chautauqua Airlines operates the flight for Delta.
