The Hector International Airport is getting an updated look and more space.

The terminal is expanding to the west and north and being remodeled throughout.

The $15.5 million project will include a fifth boarding gate, more gathering space outside the second-floor security checkpoint and updated colors.

Workers are now preparing for the first phase, an 18,480-square-foot addition to the west side of the terminal. The entire project is slated for a fall 2008 completion.
