Mesaba to Continue Negotiations
Mesaba Aviation Inc is to continue negotiations with its unions despite a bankruptcy court ruling that allows the carrier to impose pay cuts.
Tom Wychor, head of the pilots' union, said that there needs to be a consensual agreement for the airline to survive. According to The Associated Press, union leaders have said they will strike if Mesaba goes ahead with plans to impose terms at 00:01 Central Time on 18 October.
On 16 October Judge Gregory Kishel decided that Mesaba could unilaterally end contracts with 1,140 pilots, mechanics and flight attendants.
