Frontier Applies for Service Expansion to Mexico
Frontier Airlines (Nasdaq: FRNT) has said that following on from the early success of its new Los Angeles (direct) and San Francisco (one-stop) service to Cabo San Lucas, and its Los Angeles to San Francisco shuttle service, the carrier has applied for a service expansion.
The carrier said that it has filed an application with the United States Department of Transportation (DOT) for authorisation to expand its Mexico service from California by offering direct service to Cabo San Lucas from Sacramento with three weekly flights and San Jose with four flights per week.
The new service would start in early March 2007 just in time for the Spring Break travel period. In addition, beginning 14 December 2006, Frontier will launch new service between San Francisco and Las Vegas with one flight a day.
