The Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) has urged a Senate committee to give it the right to operate poker machines as well as pub TAB and online keno.

In a submission to the Senate Committee on Transport, the BAC has called for changes to current regulations that prohibit gambling.

The BAC says airports and tenants are at a commercial disadvantage by not being allowed to offer lottery products or casket and scratch it tickets.

The corporation also wants the right to offer online keno, pub TAB and poker machines at its terminal.

And it suggests the introduction of casino activities, or so-called harder gambling, is not incompatible with an airport and would enhance the passenger experience.
