Lufthansa CEO says Frankfurt Night Flight Ban Could Cost 7,300 jobs
FRANKFURT - Deutsche Lufthansa AG chief executive Wolfgang Mayrhuber said plans to ban flights at the Frankfurt airport between 11.00 pm and 5.00 am once a new runway is completed could result in the loss of 7,300 jobs.
The chief executive added that this included employees at Lufthansa, Lufthansa Cargo and Condor.
The new runway is scheduled for completion in 2010.
However, Mayrhuber said Lufthansa has no plans to abandon the Frankfurt airport.
'We have no plans to move away from here,' the chief executive said.
