Trees to be Removed from Boscobel Airport
DUBUQUE, Iowa -- Representatives of the Boscobel Airport Commission, the city of Boscobel, the state Department of Natural Resources and the state Department of Transportation met recently to discuss the proposed removal of trees and woody vegetation to accommodate new equipment at the Boscobel Airport.
The number of trees slated for removal had been reduced greatly since the preliminary proposal was presented to the Lower Wisconsin State Riverway Board of Directors, which oversees projects. Mark Cupp, board executive director, said a re-vegetation plan will be required but will be more modest in scope than originally was envisioned. The plan will require low-growing shrubs to be planted near the river to replace some of the pines that will be removed.
