A Florida Man in Canadian Court after Transatlantic Airline Incident

March 28, 2007

HAPPY VALLEY-GOOSE BAY, N.L. - A Florida man will appear in a Newfoundland court today on charges stemming from an incident on a transatlantic flight.

A Continental Airlines jet made an unscheduled landing in Happy Valley-Goose Bay on Monday night following a disturbance on the plane.

An RCMP spokesman says the 47-year-old man struggled with officers as he was being taken from the plane.

The plane was heading to Oslo, Norway, from Newark, New Jersey, when it had to be diverted.
